Amazing day at Geisinger Janet Weis Childrens' Hospital with players from Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins
Yesterday was the day it all clicked for those of us trying to bring a smile to the face of a child with a chronic illness. With the assistance of Joey Mormina, Paul Thompson and Riley Holzapfel along with their wives and girlfriends some special patients at Janet Weis are smiling! The Palermo Foundation cant express enough gratitude to those players that joined us for this visit. Below are some of the photos from this special day.

Come Join us January 26th at Damenti's Ice Bar
We are pleased to announce every Saturday night from now till March will be the Palermo Foundation's night at Damenti's Ice Bar.
Our first night was a total success and through your donations that night we will be able to support 35 children with beads at Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital. Lets not stop there, I would challenge our supporters new and old to raise enough funds to support 150 children in the year 2013. So see you at Damenti's Ice Bar from 6-8 pm every Saturday night to reach our goal.
We call upon you to join us.
Damenti’s Ice Bar and the Palermo Heart to Heart Foundation are working together with area non-profit charities this winter.
Palermo Heart to Heart Foundation, sole sponsors of the Beads of Courage program at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, will be donating half of all nightly bar sales to non-profit charities this season.
The selected charity’s job is to promote this event through any means possible to ensure a good turnout. Volunteer celebrity bartenders work well, and generally give their tips to the charity.
Rental is free and includes a fully stocked Ice Bar; the selected charity will keep half of all sales from the night while the other half will go to the Palermo Foundation’s effort in supporting the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
The Palermo Foundation is offering local businesses the opportunity to get involved by sponsoring a carved window made of ice that will showcase the business’s name, showing support for this exciting combined charity effort.
Companies that have secured a corporate window are:
McCarthy Tire and Automotive Center
Be sure to stop by Damenti’s Ice Bar and witness this work of art from January 8th through March 17th. While you’re there, have a beverage and support a good cause.
This is a great opportunity for non-profit charities. Interested organizations can contact the Palermo Foundation at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for further information.
